Markers - Ran Art Blog
I finished my testing for the Ohuhu Kaala markers, and I love them!
It is for an update to my guide for markers
They have a fine bullet nib, for more detailed work, and a chisel nib for filling large areas.
They come in 150 shades. My set is only 60 colors, but it was enough for testing.
That said, I usually prefer brush nibs, that is why I like the Ohuhu Honolulu series, which has 320 colors.
And, they come with a case.
Because the color range is very wide, and includes both light and dark values, and saturated and less saturated colors, it allows for realism.
I did these two realistic drawings together with one of my students (she drew the structure with a pencil, and I colored them).
I did use a bit of colored pencils too.
All my latest marker testing were done on a Clairefontaine mix media paper.

The drawing of the chicken meal looks good enough to eat :)
Thank you. I was skeptic about it. I wasn't sure it can be done properly with markers. My student insisted that I'd go for it. Sometimes I learn more from my students than they learn from me :o)
