RE: Relationships, Respect & Saying it like it is - A Morning Ramble
Lovely, REAL, honest post, and I completely agree with you.
"...when they feel that something is morally wrong, or does not agree with their own lifestyle choices, they voice this disapproval so strongly that it actually comes across as more of an accusation and character attack than it does as an opinion or piece of advice".
I can relate to this big time, it absolutely feels like bullying, especially when it's repeated over and over as it was in my case, my "friend" was one of many years so it was quite hurtful. It's at that point when enough is enough, I saw how low she could go and in recent months I decided the healthiest thing for me to do was to move on as ironically, I was honest with her about a position she put me in, I in no way attacked her or even voiced that I disapproved what she was doing (like she had previously done to me repeatedly) and yet I, somehow was the one that got attacked, and it was MY character she was bashing... that was her response to me being truthful about how I was feeling! Two words to that, the second word being "off"!
Life is short like you say, and I say good riddance to those that suck it out of me! Lol. Cheers to keeping it real 🍷❤️
Good riddance to bad rubbish indeed. There are better things to fill our cup of time with! Sounds to me like that was very much a "one way" friendship - which by definition is not a friendship at all.
Great that you had the courage to stand up for yourself enough to walk away from it.
