Road Trip Perpignan Albi (France) (23 photos)
Road trip
Hello everyone!
Here are some photos from an end of year road trip. We were able to see the Cathedral and the Pams hotel in Perpignan.
Nestled in the heart of Perpignan's historic center, Hotel Pams is a true architectural and artistic treasure. Built in the late 19th century, this opulent mansion offers a glimpse into the city's Belle Époque grandeur. Originally owned by Jules Pams, a wealthy industrialist and politician, the hôtel particulier reflects a perfect blend of Catalan charm and Parisian sophistication.
As you step inside, you're greeted by an enchanting courtyard adorned with lush greenery and exotic plants. The building itself is a masterpiece of Art Nouveau design, with intricate wrought-iron balconies, ornate mosaics, and richly decorated interiors. Murals, frescoes, and elegant woodwork tell stories of an era defined by luxury and artistic innovation.
One of the highlights is the grand staircase, its balustrade a swirling display of craftsmanship. The salon, with its frescoed ceiling and gilded details, offers a sense of timeless elegance. Every room exudes an aura of history, making Hotel Pams not just a residence but a canvas of cultural heritage.
Today, Hôtel Pams often hosts art exhibitions, cultural events, and guided tours, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in its beauty. It's a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Perpignan, offering a unique perspective on the city's rich history and artistic legacy.
Whether you're an architecture enthusiast, a history lover, or simply seeking a stunning spot for your travel photos, Hotel Pams is sure to captivate your imagination.

The Cathedral of Albi, officially known as Sainte-Cécile Cathedral, is a breathtaking masterpiece of Gothic architecture in southern France. Constructed entirely of brick, it stands as one of the largest brick buildings in the world and a symbol of the region's unique craftsmanship.
I'll save you the inside for another post my connection where I am is catastrophic for uploading :)

Thank you very much ! :)
Wow, the photos are spectacular. I love the very first one that made me to recall "The Da Vinci code" when the whole story was around the old cathedrals and its secrets.
Both cathedral with its artistic walls and ceiling, magnificent organ, the sound might be gorgeous with an acoustic of such buildings.
The Hotel rooms might be very expensive but one may feel himself like a king :)
Wonderful photos and architecture. Thank you for this beautiful post :)
Thank you very much !
