Steemit Engagement Challenge WOX Community S6W3: Drawing Trees
Hi everyone! 😊
Here's my participation to this nice contest, thank you for initiating it!
Trees is a good subject for drawing, and not the easier at all. Ran's tutorial helps me a lot to allow me to design the sheets based on abstract strokes.
Process
First, I drew the major forms of the trees.
Then I started to do abstract strokes on the leaves, taking care not to put too many repetitive figures.
After that I come back with anothers layers, to put shadows and values on the foliage.
When it was finished, I drew the trunk, still paying attention to the values.
I hope you will like it.
I hope to be able to participate in this kind of challenge again in the future, it's really funny and a nice opportunity.

I love the abstraction of the leaves, the values, the cast shadow with soft edges, the transitions in values for the tree trunk.
At this high level, my suggestion is to use a small eraser, to clean the edges of the branches and tree trunk (they should be super hard).

It's really funny that you said that because it's exactly what I wanted to do, with the same material you suggested, but it is empty 😭
It frustrated me a lot when I finished my drawing, I couldn't find any more fine erasers at home 😅
You have the square one. I never tried it. I use the round one. I bought many refills, because my students use it all the time, so I have to replace it a lot.
I also tried the round one, but I really like the square one because it can erase even more precisely, thanks to its corners 😉
I should try it too. It always looked too big for me.

Well done drawing, it is very close to what we can expect as a realistic pencil art drawing.
Keep it up, you still have to improve your tonal interpretation but you're doing very well. Practice and observation is the key.
