The Voice of TIME - Photo contest #28
Ein interessantes und zugleich schwieriges Thema hat sich @bamuka für den Photo contest #28 ausgesucht.
An interesting and at the same time difficult topic @bamuka has chosen for the Photo contest #28.
Die Stimme der Zeit, was hat sie zu erzählen? Die Zeit verrinnt, das hört man oft und es gibt viele Bilder, die dies darzustellen versuchen. Auch ich wagte mich vor einiger Zeit an dieses Thema und heraus kam diese Collage aus Bild1, Bild2 und Bild3:
The voice of time, what does it have to say? We often hear that time is slipping away and there are many pictures that try to illustrate this. Some time ago, I also tried to deal with this topic and the result was this collage of picture 1, picture 2 and picture 3:
For the contest, however, only self-taken pictures are allowed.
So, I remembered, I took a photo of the Arthur Ganson time mechanism in the gardens of Trauttmansdorff over 10 years ago, yes time flies.
Auf dem Schild zum Zeitgetriebe ist zu lesen:
Ein beeindruckendes Beispiel mechanisch dargestellter Mathematik. Die Anfangsdrehzahl des Elektromotors wird durch jede der 12 miteinander verbundenen Drehwellen um das jeweils 24fache reduziert. Wenn sich das 12. und damit letzte Rad einmal gedreht hat, ist unser Planet um unglaubliche 366,4 Millionen Jahre älter. Die letzte Bewegung verliert sich im Gemäuer, wo die Zeit zum Stillstand kommt.
In the description of the timing mechanism you can read:
An impressive example of mechanically represented mathematics. The initial speed of the electric motor is reduced 24 times by each of the 12 interconnected rotating shafts. When the 12th and thus last wheel has turned once, our planet is older by an incredible 366.4 million years. The last movement is lost in the masonry, where time comes to a standstill.

Beim Original ist bei den ersten Achsen deutlich eine Drehung sichtbar, von Achse zu Achse werden diese immer langsamer, langsamer und langsamer, bis die letzte Achse schließlich vollkommen still zu stehen scheint.
In the original, a rotation is clearly visible in the first axes, from axis to axis these become slower, slower and slower until the last axis finally seems to stand completely still.
So wie ich es erlebe, ist es im Leben genau umgekehrt, die ersten Jahre vergehen nur langsam, doch von Achse zu Achse nimmt die gefühlte Geschwindigkeit zu. Warum das so ist, keine Ahnung, es ist, wie es ist. Vielleicht ein Geheimnis, das uns die Stimme der Zeit eines Tages verraten wird.
The way I experience it, in life it is exactly the opposite, the first years go by slowly, but from axis to axis the felt speed increases.
Why that is, I don't know, it is what it is. Maybe a secret that the voice of time will tell us one day.

Nice interpretation of Voice of time, I agree for different generation time goes with different speed. For us now on Holiday it is just running :)
