CONTEST EXCLUSIVE WEEK XVIII - COMMUNITY WORLD OF XPILAR | An insect that defends itself by emitting a foul smell
Stink Bug
Hello all ...
This time I want to participate again in the 18th macro photography contest held by Mod WORLD OF XPILAR @sultan-aceh and supported directly by @xpilar.
Today I want to post a photo of an insect that I found in the forests of Aceh, Indonesia. The name of this insect is the Stink Bug.
Stink Bug is an insect that is an important pest on cultivated crops, especially rice. This insect is easily recognized by its elongated shape, measuring about 2 cm, gray-brown, and has a "trunk" to suck plant fluids.
Stink Bug sucks plant fluids from flower stalks and also rice fruit juices which are still at the mature stage of milk, causing the plants to become nutrient deficient and yellow, and slowly weaken.
The name of this animal shows a form of self-defense, which is to emit a pungent smell to the nose. In fact, not only stink bugs emit this scent, but also many insects defend themselves by emitting a foul odor.
And there are some photos of the Stink Bug that I can take, let's take a peek:
