The river Ganges running right through the so-called “capital of Yoga” plays an important role here. Some enjoy it for rafting or bungee jumping, others dive into the water to wash off their sins. Luckily, the river is not yet polluted here as it comes straight from the mountains.
The first picture I took in a small temple. A rather puzzling, enigmatic scene...
...the second one on the way down to the Ganges. I liked the mysteriousness of the arrangement and the shadows on the rocks and trees which seemed to participate in it.
The third one was taken at Ganga Aarti, a river ritual. People let little ships with flowers – mainly marigolds – and candles and probably also loaded with hopes and wishes float down the river…
