SUPERDEVELOPED SONNET
It is so soothing to harbor good feelings,
they console the soul of those who have them so well
that good deeds become unforgettable moments,
and doing good is a pleasure to dwell.
Thus, if one arrives at a terrace in summer’s light,
it feels better to give alms than to sip lemonade outright.
It consoles more to live amidst many poor souls
than to mingle with those for whom nothing's a fight.
And after so many years giving away what’s theirs,
regardless of the ways it was attained or secured,
still, there’s a guaranteed place for them in heaven's cares,
an added delight to the pleasures they’ve endured.
This would only (if it held no other scope)
belong to one from an underdeveloped country of hope.
