Everything is ice

Today, an attempt was made to get to several points of the city by car. We did not clean the car from the ice crust, and gradually it began to thaw itself from the internal heat. It was difficult to open the icy doors, but after opening one first, we did it with the rest from the inside.

So, with ice on the windshield, it was more beautiful to drive than with just clean glass. Of all the most incredible weather conditions, I manage to get photos that are interesting to me.

There were no accidents on the roadway, our studded tires held the car normally. But I had to get out of it, and that's when I noticed that absolutely everything was covered with a crust of ice, even the sand with which this ice was constantly sprinkled.

Even at the gas station, where this is constantly monitored, the entire paving stones are covered with a crust of ice and I had to spend a lot of time to get to the office to pay for gasoline, because I was not wearing skates and did not take a stick with me to support myself.

And in urban pedestrian areas, smooth ice shone everywhere on the paths. There was not a single part of the ground that was not icy, with which it would be possible to safely cross the shaft of icy snow and the parking curb to access the pedestrian part. It was the most extreme adventure this winter. Even if you get on all fours and try to overcome obstacles like a four-legged creature, success would be unlikely, since every grain of sand, every bump is covered with durable, smooth ice.

I didn't have time to take pictures, and I did it only after I managed to get out onto the flat surface of the ice. From the outside, it may now seem to someone like a simple and safe place, even sprinkled with sand with reagents, but it all just seems that way, and the sand peeks through absolutely smooth ice, and it's not water that glitters here. The frost is severe, so the ice does not melt even in contact with salt.

Now I'm reading that scientists are confused about how the weather is behaving this winter, but ordinary people don't remember having to deal with this kind of glaciation either. I don't remember either.
