Therapeutic Effects of Long Exposure - Imprinted by LightCaptured

in WORLD OF XPILAR14 days ago

Greetings!

I've wondered what word would describe better the main influence of spending time at one location on purpose.

"Zen"? Well, that sounds a bit too bonding but is there actually a word or a phrase that isn't loaded with sentiment or prejudice? I strongly doubt that.

So let's just go with the phrase "Therapeutic Effects". OK?

Yup, this works for me.

So, let's start with them effects. I don't want this to be too long so I'll try to keep that list tight and short.

  • Long exposure photography makes the day bigger.

Wait, what? Yup, let's explain that with an example. I am one of those "night owls" who prefers to stay away in the dark hours and then sleep the sunrise. However, the sunrises and the sunsets are those two magical moments that make every landscape photographer set the alarm and change the daily routine. Meeting a sunrise, deliberately, with no camera in my hands - let's say I've done this few times, but less that ten times in my whole life.

With my cameras, lenses, tripod and sometimes friends, that has happened much more often!

  • Long exposure photography gives time to (self)reflect. Or meditate, whatever you'd prefer.

Pretty much self explanatory, right?

  • Long exposure photography eases minds to accept and appreciate the gift of life and beauty in nature.

Here is an experiment to try, if you haven't. Pick a street to walk and observe what you see and what happens while walking. Then, the next day, walk the same street at the same time but this time stop for one minute every ten steps you make. Don't mind people around, lol. I bet you will notice quite different stuff. Something unexpected could happen to you as well.

Enough bullet points, right, let's get now to the visuals!

The first three pictures are from Tyulenovo, Black Sea, Bulgaria

The fourth picture is from Sovana, Italy

The fifth one is from a random road stop in Easter Iceland

The last one, as many will recognize, is from Rome, Italy. It was overcrowded, as that place usually always is, around the clock, so I tried here the zoom-burst technique.

I have included the photos EXIF metadata if anyone's interested, I guess.

Thanks so much for your kind support!

Yes, the last one is zoom-burst, changing the focal length while shooting ;)
It works better when zooming-out that zooming-in, better control ;) Have you tried it? It could produce amazing abstract effects.

Я пробовал и мне нравятся эти эффекты. Сейчас становится тепло на улице и я хочу продолжить эксперименты
