Mañana cumpliré tres años en esta base lunar. El año pasado todavía pudimos celebrar con una pequeña entre los tres miembros del equipo que aún continuábamos la misión. Los otros dos regresaron a la Tierra un día después, llevábamos meses sin recibir comunicaciones. Yo decidí quedarme para continuar con la misión. Habíamos ya avanzado bastante en el proyecto Ecosystem y yo tenía aún la esperanza de que mis compañeros habrían de regresar.

Tomorrow I will be three years old on this lunar base. Last year we were still able to celebrate with a little feast among the three team members who were still continuing the mission. The other two returned to Earth a day later, we had months without receiving communications. I decided to stay to continue the mission. We had already made good progress in the Ecosystem project and I still hoped that my colleagues would return.

Hace seis meses decidí liberar a los diferentes conjuntos de especies que estuvimos cultivando en esta biósfera. Plantas, animales y microorganismos diversos cuyos ancestros habitaron la Tierra. Decidí que era tiempo de destruir aquel laboratorio que se estaba acabando toda nuestra energía de reserva y dejar que en el se desarrollara la vida por los medios que quisiera. Todo aquel ser vivo que habitara la Luna formaría parte de esta formidable selva. Solamente inicié la incubadora, necesitaré ayuda en la futura empresa.

Six months ago I decided to free the different sets of species that we were cultivating in this biosphere. Plants, animals and diverse microorganisms whose ancestors inhabited the Earth. I decided it was time to destroy that laboratory that was running out of all our energy reserve and let life develop in whatever way it wanted. All the living beings that inhabited the Moon would be part of this formidable jungle. I only keep and the incubator, I will need help in the future endeavor.

Era claro que ya no habría respuesta de la Tierra. cada día pensaba en que mis compañeros habrían hecho mejor quedándose aquí. Es muy probable que hayan encontrado a la Tierra en el caos de la guerra, o tal vez azotada por una terrible pandemia. He decidido romper todas las antenas de telecomunicación, estoy seguro que desde allá ya no vendrá ninguna respuesta. Necesitaré artefactos puntiagudos para cazar y sobrevivir después de mi última ración de alimentos.

It was clear that there would be no response from Earth. Every day I thought that my colleagues would have done better staying here. It is very likely that they have found Earth in the chaos of war, or perhaps struck by a terrible pandemic. I decided to break all the telecommunication antennas, I'm sure no answer will come from there. I will need sharp artifacts to hunt and survive after my last portion of food.

Cada ciclo vengo a este rincón apartado en la biósfera lunar, no sé si espero mirar una nave terrestre aproximándose o ser un espectador "privilegiado" de un posible cataclismo planetario. Algo en mi cuerpo se está transformando, mis movimientos ya no son los mismos de antes. Cada que vengo a este lugar comienzo a realizar extrañas danzas en las que no interviene mi voluntad y se desenvuelve sin contenciones.

Every cycle I come to this secluded corner in the lunar biosphere, I don't know if I expect to see an approaching terrestrial ship or be a “privileged” spectator of a possible planetary cataclysm. Something in my body is transforming, my movements are no longer the same as before. Every time I come to this place I begin to perform strange dances in which my will does not intervene and unfolds without restraint.

Los animales se reúnen en torno mío, unos pacíficos y otros deseando saborear mi carne. Las plantas y flores emiten sus fragancias que los insectos persiguen. Estamos creando el nuevo mundo con nuevas reglas de convivencia. Una ciudad entera a nuestra disposición para habitar por generaciones enteras. Una pareja de niños de la especie humana están en camino, educarlos en la preservación de este hogar será mi último juramento que desde aquí hago a la Madre Tierra.

The animals gather around me, some peaceful and others wanting to taste my meat. Plants and flowers cast their fragrances that insects chase. We are creating the new world with new rules of coexistence. An entire city at our disposal to inhabit for entire generations. A couple of children of the human species are on the way, educating them in the preservation of this home will be my last oath that from here I make to Mother Earth.
