Escape from reality
I recently went for a walk where the Tower of Peace was located. This is located in a secluded area, safe from the public eye. It's because you are surrounded by trees. The tower is located in the middle of them all. You can hear the busy roads surrounding this little park but it gives you an escape from reality.
You can read more about that here.
What made me come to this place is to spend some time with nature even for just a while.
Where do you draw the line between dream and reality? For dreamers, every waking hour is a chance to dream and create. All around us there are beautiful things we can take inspiration from. Fiction depicts life or is it the other way around?
We like to live the life that we see in movies, we read in books. We fell in love in being love or the thought of being in love. Because of our past experiences - hurt, lost, pain, death, we wanted nothing of that. Rather, we wanted a life free from those. Thus, we dream.
In this photo, the tower is reflected in the puddle of water that collected from the rainy weeks we have had these past days. I was imagining of plunging myself into it and see what would I see on the other side. Is it reality or fantasy?
Would you do it?
It made me think that if I was able to go into the puddle of other dimension, where would it take me? Would it take me to a world of my subconscious or would it take me to a world that I wanted or would it be something else - a reality that is not mine but of someone else's.
Would I like it?
Will it be as clear as what it reflects?
I am writing this with full of questions. I don't even know where this will lead.
One thing is clear in nature. Be it great or small, it's a different world out there.
I used to dream of being small, tiny like these lichens/moss. I used to think there'd be fairies and dwarves, little people among these or some other kind of creatures maybe from the minds of Tolkien or Anderson or King or maybe creatures that have never been thought of or imagined or revealed. A new discovery!
Maybe it is a world free from politics, from suffering, from greed. However, it is still part of this world and we are bound to be doomed because of what us humans do. We are all connected from small things to great things, the air we breath, the land we farm, the water we drink. Humans consume and consume but what they give back is waste and destruction.
Sad reality. It's a reality I have to go back to.
I was at the Tower of Peace but where is peace? Only in figment of our imagination. Elusive. We can feel it like the wind but we can't see it.
Can we dream and hope what will be our reality and hopefully find peace?
This is my entry to @adeljose's Weekly Contest, "Playing photographer #3.
Greetings my friend @leeart
Interesting pictures where you were able to capture the parallel world reflected with the water, providing double the beauty of that place.
Thanks for joining the contest
