When Manchester United travels to Turf Moor to face Burnley on Tuesday night, they will be looking to strengthen their grip on fourth position in the Premier League table.

Manchester United have not been able to put together a regular run of results, but thanks to clubs around them tripping up, they have moved up to fourth position after an important 1-0 win over fifth-placed West Ham United. The Red Devils were knocked out of the FA Cup by Middlesbrough in a penalty shootout last week after going four games without losing in all competitions.

West Ham are just a point behind Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in the Premier League table, and they can't afford any more blunders or slip-ups. However, traveling Turf Moor to play Burnley is never a simple task for Premier League opponents.
With Ralf Rangnick's side preparing to face Atletico Madrid in the last-16 stage of the competition, the Champions League is now the team's only realistic chance of silverware this season,Before the first leg, they had league games against Burnley, Southampton, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Leeds United.

Man United are only one point clear of fifth-placed West Ham, and Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have games in hand on the Red Devils. Wolverhampton Wanderers, in eighth position, are also in contention for a Champions League finish.
Burnley squandered a chance to climb out of the Premier League relegation zone on Saturday when they drew 0-0 with Watford at Turf Moor, Prior to the break, the Clarets drew 0-0 with Arsenal, although they have only won one league game this season.

Sean Dyche's side has won one, drawn ten, and lost eight of their 19 league games this season for a total of 13 points, leaving them bottom of the table, three points behind Norwich City in 17th position.

Burnley, despite their problems this season, have two games in hand on both 19th-placed Newcastle United and 18th-placed Watford, as well as three games in hand on Norwich City.
During the January transfer window, the Clarets sold Chris Wood to Newcastle but managed to sign Wout Weghorst from Wolfsburg, and the 29-year-old will be playing in his second Premier League fixture in this match, as Dyche's team prepares for only their ninth home league game of the season.

Burnley has lost each of their last three games against Manchester United, including a 1-0 loss in the same fixture last season, and they haven't beaten United at home since a stunning 1-0 triumph in the first ever Premier League encounter between the two clubs in August 2009.

TEAM NEWS AND SELECTION

Burnley's midfielder Josh Brownhill will return from suspension for Tuesday's meeting at Turf Moor, and the player is expected to start.
Matej Vydra and Johann Berg Gudmundsson will both be unavailable for selection, while Ashley Barnes and Charlie Taylor may possibly be unavailable.

Dyche is unlikely to make many changes from the side that started the goalless draw with Watford, but Jay Rodriguez might replace Weghorst in the final third, with Maxwel Cornet shifting to the left flank.
The fort in the middle of the park will be manned by Ashley Westwood and the returning Brownhill. When in possession, their main goal will be to limit Bruno Fernandes' influence and locate wide players to launch counter-attacks.

On the right and left sides, Dwight McNeil and Maxwel Cornet should be the two wingers. Burnley's chances of winning on Tuesday will be determined by how they perform. They'll be the major source of chances for Jay Rodriguez and January signing Wout Weghorst's two-pronged strikeforce.

Alex Telles and Fred will not be able to play for Manchester United after testing positive for coronavirus. Jesse Lingard and Edinson Cavani, who both missed the weekend cup fixture, are back in contention and will be included in the squad. Victor Lindelof (illness) and Eric Bailly (ankle) are both listed as questionable for the game.

After taking minor knocks against Middlesbrough, Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho, and Raphael Varane are fit and ready to play. There won't be many changes from the lineup that played in midweek, but Ralf Rangnick will be expecting for a much stronger performance from his men.
David de Gea should return to goal after making way for Dean Henderson in the FA Cup match. On the right side, Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw are the full-backs, while on the left, Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw are the full-backs. On the right, Dalot is a good outlet, but he must be aware of the threat provided by Cornet. Varane and Harry Maguire should form a defensive partnership.

Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho should play on the flanks once more, with Cristiano Ronaldo leading the assault for the Red Devils. From the bench, Anthony Elanga, Lingard, and Cavani will be alternatives.

Lineup Prediction

Burnley possible starting lineup:

Nick Pope; C. Roberts, J. Tarkowski,Ben Mee, E. Pieters,Dwight McNeil, Ashly Westwood, J. Brownhill, M.Cornet, Wout Weghorst, Rodriguez.

Manchester United possible starting lineup:

De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Maguire, L. Shaw, McTominay,P. Pogba, M. Rashford, Fernandes, Sancho, Ronaldo

Scores Preditions

This is a crucial football match for both clubs, and the outcome is tough to predict. Burnley will believe they can cause problems for an ailing Manchester United team.
Manchester United has struggled under interim manager Ralf Rangnick, and has been unable to play consistently good football for long periods of time, as seen by their FA Cup loss to Middlesbrough. The Red Devils, on the other hand, are heavy favorites to win when they face a team that is stuck to the bottom of the Premier League standings and has only won one game all season.

Manchester United has history on their side, having had a string of good successes at Turf Moor, and a far superior squad. They will have an increased creative presence with Paul Pogba back,I feel the visitors will find their way to three crucial points at Turf Moor on Tuesday.
So I say Burnley 1-2 Manchester United.
