A DINNER OF SECOND CHANCES
Miranda was extremely happy spending her alone time at her cozy home after a long time.
Her family went out for a funeral and she was having her best time by watching a movie on her bed eating chips untill she got a phone her boyfriend Carl.
"Hey, me and my family are on the way to your house. We'll be there in one hour ok? Can't wait for your dinner''
Miranda panicked. She totally forgot that she invited them for dinner that day.
"Oh no Oh noo. This is bad. How did I forget? This was my chance to win Carl's families' hearts. What shall I do now?"
Her house was a total mess. So swept the house super fast. She threw all the things to her room and locked the door.
So the cleaning part was over.
"What about the dinner now? I don't know how to cook. Mom's not here. Shall I order something? Urrrh no money in the house. I am cooked."
She then opened the fridge. There were vegetables , apple juice, a loaf of bread, a packet of spaghetti , a packet of noodles and rice.
"Ok now no time to cook noodles , spaghetti and fried rice now even though those are the best options for a dinner right now."
There wasn't much time to think.
She immediately boiled vegetables adding spices , butter and cheese, toasted bread, put apple juice to glasses and arranged the table lighting two candles to bring an elegant vibe.
Carl with his family arrived.
His parents and his two little brother looked scary to her.
She gave them a warm welcome and served the dinner.
There were boiled carrots, baby corns,potatoes ,beans, cabbage with salt, pepper, butter and cheese on top of that.
Apple juice in glasses looks like some expensive juice.
At her suprise dinner table actually looked good and smelled good.
"Did you know I am a vegetarian? This is the perfect meal for me. Light, healthy yet delicious" Carl's father said.
"Yeah I was fed up with eating fried rice, Spaghetti and noodles for dinner dear. Your Nicoise Salad is awesome." his mother added.
'It has a name??' Miranda wondered.
"I am glad to see how my brothers finally enjoy eating vegetables". That was Carl.
One of his brothers was a huge fan of Apple juice.
He drank two glasses.
At Miranda's surprise , it seemed like Carl's family really enjoyed her very first and last minute dinner.
Every single Carl's family member looked satisfied.
She never thought her meal will make an good impression.
But guess what.
It actually did and Carl's mom even brought leftovers with her.
"Your dinner was amazing as you are" Carl's text made her truly happy.
