steem food challenge, week 135 / #club100

I have a little story to share today, at least it's delicious foody ending.

Olives, sausage and two bottles of Chianti -- that was the end of the story.
Or, actually it was not, because ...
Ok, let me better start from the beginning.
I had a call on Saturday - my old friend whom I havent seen in decade, was on a brief visit to the city, and reserved half of a day for a meeting and wine-drinking :P We met at Nevsky avenue, which marks the center of the city and its most parade and fashionable districts, and had an extensive pedestrian walk across the streets and embankments.

A lot of pretty long, elongated enbankments.

When the weather is so hot (it was +26 +30 grades in the previous days) nothing can be better than the cooling breeze from the water... except of a glass with red wine, of course! well, maybe a glass of champagne will work too.

Look at those folks, who definitely experience all sorts of fun!

...A few hours and thousands of words later, our legs became buzzing and we decided to settle down.

We headed to the hostel where he stayed, looking out for a proper wine store to get something convincing and delicious. My friend is a better wine coneisser than me, so he suggested to go after Chianti and I did not mind at all. Maybe I am not that picky when it comes to red wine, or there are so many good and not pricey brands on sale around?..

So. Olives, cheese and sausages became a good extra for the wine. We stocked and returned to his suit.

The suit he have taken had two windows looking at two different streets, so that we can choose. One of them had this view onto the Griboedova channel -- with water, boats, and x-crossing with late pedestrians ... it was so beautiful, that we did not consider too long where to sit.

We sat on the windowsill and talked like 3 hours about everything. Let me skip that part of the evening... we really had a lot of things to tell each other. Travelling, parenting, books, music. Jobs. Political perspectives. Other old friends that we arent in touch with anymore. Really, a lot of things. I am truly happy that sometimes meetings like that do happen... sometimes, once in a while.

Red wine was superb, sipping it without no rush was totally deceiving, I did not noticed when 2 AM have passed...

And now it was too late for the tube, my bike was left at home, and ahead it was a long way home across the lonely streets -- but I have no regrets... and that was definitely another story. Hope you enjoyed the visuals. See you next time!

A special black-and-white edit version I add to the post for @axeman challenge. In my humble opinion, removing colours in this certain case adds to the picture a lot, giving it maybe some out-of-time or vintage feeling... what will you say, my friends?
