Tribute to Fishermen by Christina Motta
Hi friends!
Another of Motta's masterpieces, "Three Fishermen," pays homage to the town's original inhabitants. This dynamic sculpture depicts three fishermen in the process of hauling in their nets, their muscles tense with effort and their faces marked by determination and camaraderie. This piece celebrates the city’s roots and the hard-working spirit of its people, whose lives were intimately tied to the sea.
Even with a close-up, it's not easy to tell it's a sculpture due to the deep realism achieved by Motta's work.
Information plaque on the pedestrian walkway, at the side of the beach, in front of the sculpture.
Christina Motta’s artistic reach extends far beyond Buzios and each of her sculptures tells a unique story, weaving a rich tapestry of history, culture and identity throughout Brazil and beyond.
