We will continue to study the human skull to understand how its component bones define the characteristics of the head and facial features. For this we will draw half of the face of an imaginary character and the other half as its skull would be, to establish a comparison that allows us to appreciate how the bone structure determines the facial features of people.

Seguiremos estudiando el cráneo humano para comprender cómo los huesos que lo componen definen las características de la cabeza y los rasgos faciales. Para ello dibujaremos la mitad del rostro de un personaje imaginario y la otra mitad como sería su cráneo, para establecer una comparación que nos permita apreciar cómo la estructura ósea determina los rasgos faciales de las personas.

We begin by establishing the main elements that make up the face, the location and approximate proportions based on the canon that we studied in previous lessons.

Comenzamos estableciendo los elementos principales que componen el rostro, la ubicación y proporciones aproximadas en base al canon que estudiamos en lecciones anteriores.

Here we already begin to draw the face on one side and its bone structure on the other side.
As you can see, the eye hole, the zygomatic bone, and the maxilla and mandible are sketched on the right. Don't forget the perspective of the maxilla, as shown in red, to the side.
On the left side, I have sketched the eye, the eyebrow, the nose and the lips.

Aquí ya comenzamos a dibujar la cara por un lado y su estructura ósea por el otro lado.
Como puedes ver, el orificio del ojo, el hueso cigomático y el maxilar y la mandíbula están esbozados a la derecha. No olvides la perspectiva del maxilar, como se muestra en rojo, al lado.

At this stage, I have begun to outline in more detail and to establish certain darker areas, both in the middle of the face and in the skull.

Then, once the features of the face and the bones of the skull have been drawn, with the hatching technique I have defined the dark areas.

Then, with the help of a blender stump, I soften and spread the shadows.

Luego, con la ayuda de un difuminador, suavizo y extiendo las sombras.

Now, with a kneadable eraser, I clean the areas that should be lighter.

Ahora, con una goma amasable, limpio las zonas que deben quedar más claras.

To get even lighter tones I use a piece of an eraser on the areas that are necessary.

Para conseguir tonos aún más claros utilizo un trozo de goma de borrar en las zonas que son necesarias.

Here I am trying to give the illusion of depth to the eye hole, so I alternate the lightening, with the kneadable eraser, eliminating some black in some areas...

Aquí estoy tratando de dar la ilusión de profundidad a la cuenca del ojo, por lo que alterno el aclarado con el borrador maleable, eliminando algo de negro en algunas áreas...

and darkening other parts with the pencil.

y oscureciendo otras partes con el lápiz.

This process of hatching, blending and erasing must be repeated as many times as you consider necessary until you obtain the desired result.

Este proceso de achurado, difuminado y borrado debe repetirse tantas veces como se considere necesario hasta obtener el resultado deseado.
