Hi friends!

First, we will draw an octagon, that is, a figure with eight equal sides.
To do this, we draw a circle and divide it into eight equal parts, always keeping in mind the central point because we need it to achieve rotational symmetry.

Dividing each angle into two equal angles again will give us the "rotation" of these angles once we erase the lines previously drawn.
That is if you are drawing by hand on paper or on another surface, but if you draw it digitally, it will be enough to rotate 22.5° those first lines.

Now we can draw the octagon in such a way that we have two perfectly vertical sides and two horizontal sides as you can see below.
3.png

This is the octagon we have obtained...
4.png

...and this is its location on my page.
You can draw it somewhere else if you want.
5.png

Using the sides of the octagon as a reference, we will draw all the helplines to cover the surface repeating the same shape.
6.png

This is what we get as a result, you can see that we got two patterns, an octagon and a square.
We could give each shape a colour and finish this exercise, but it's not very interesting, so we'll go a little further...
7.png

Returning to our original shape (the octagon), we will divide it by drawing lines from each corner or vertex point to its opposite as shown below.
8.png

We have finished drawing the helplines we needed, now we will draw others with a thick black line.
The first shape we get is the eight-pointed star that we have already drawn in previous posts.
9.png

So we draw the other lines to discover other shapes, as you can see in the following image. We get three different shapes, a central shape surrounded by two mirrored or rotated shapes.
10.png

In the same way, depicted before, we proceed to fill our drawing surface.
As you can see, a third shape appeared. It's a 45° rotated square.
11.png

Adding colours to each shape...
12a.png

The entire surface to colour...
12.png

First step... I used an ochre colour.
13.png

The second step... with a green colour.
14.png

The third step...with an orange colour.
15.png

Finally, I used a blue colour for the star.

That is all, I hope this can be useful to you and that you enjoy drawing it.
