Hi friends!

Before continuing to practice drawing, I think it is necessary to delve a little deeper into the subject of composition, although without trying to fall into complex topics such as the "Golden Section" or the "Fibonacci Spiral". (Coincidentally today(11/23), is World Fibonacci Day (1170 - 1240). He is considered the most important Western mathematician during the Middle Ages).
We will only see some practical applications of the "Rule of Thirds" which is a simple way to determine points of visual attraction.
The "Rule of Thirds" says that if you divide your drawing surface into thirds, both vertically and horizontally, and then place focal areas of your scene where these lines intersect (around, not exactly), your compositions will look nicer.
I show you some examples below, which can be useful to help you decide on a composition scheme.

This is a drawing paper divided into thirds.

This is a composition by mass opposition. We oppose a large mass along the left third with a small mass at the right third to get a visual balance.

This is a diagonal composition by mass opposition as well. We oppose a large mass in the right third with a small mass in the upper left third for a visual balance.

This is also a diagonal composition where the visual impact is given by a concentrated floral mass in the lower left third as opposed to these fine ones in the upper right third.

This is a composition where almost the entire drawing is concentrated in the upper horizontal third which is visually balanced with the fine vertical portion in the central third.

As I said in the previous lesson 107-Lesson, this is an abstract subject, therefore a bit difficult to follow. In my opinion, the best way to make it your own is by observing and practising, so that your aesthetic sense will become more and more acute over time.
Always try to find in your drawings or in the images that you look at which is the composition format that best fits.
With practice, this becomes easier and more intuitive.
