Friendship: A Treasure Worth Keeping
Greetings, dear friends, how are you all? I hope you all are fine and enjoying your day. I wish for you all good health, wealth and a prosperous time ahead. Today I will share with you something about my friends and my friendship. The way we live and the way we have spent our time together till now, the closeness we share and the respect we give to each other. I hope I’ll be able to draw your attention towards my post, and you will find it a worthwhile read.
My ancestors and my parents lived in this village and I was born here as well. This village is a beautiful little valley, surrounded by mountains on all sides. A river flows through the center of the village, dividing it into two parts, with two settlements on either bank. This village is incredibly beautiful, and the people here are not only polite but also very hospitable and loving.
The people of this village have always been developed and progressive. They are engaged in business or jobs and hardly waste any time. The people here also have a strong inclination towards education. We have access to every government facility, and we are grateful not only to the government but also to our ancestors who came before us. They played a significant role in establishing these facilities here through their hard work and efforts.
My admission was in a school here. Being young, I didn’t know much about who was with me and who wasn’t. But as I grew up, I noticed some familiar faces around me. Eventually, those people became my close friends, with whom I spent every moment, and being away from them became harder with each passing day. These people became my constant companions. We made decisions together, and in terms of studies, whatever we needed to do, we would think it through and debate together before carrying it out.
All of my friends were very playful, and we loved to play so much that we would immediately drop our bags at home after coming back from school at four o'clock and rush out to play. The extent of our enthusiasm was such that we played cricket even after removing snow in the winter. We had chosen a few small places where we would go to play every day, and those spots became our favorites. One place, which we called "Melbourne," was where we would clear the snow and lay down some mats to play cricket. We had a great passion for playing, and alongside our love for sports, we were also good at studying because we had a sense of competition among ourselves. We would try to progress by looking at each other’s efforts.
We do everything together and it has always been our nature to share all our joys and sorrows within our circle. We didn’t keep each other away in terms of studies either, we included our friends in every decision related to our education and allowed everyone to contribute to our strategies. As we grew older, our family responsibilities also increased, but we never stopped being friends. Even today, we are the same friends who engage in all the activities we used to do in the past.
We started applying for various jobs, and in this regard, I and two of my friends are working in government jobs, while other two friends are doing private jobs. After that, one of our friends is running his own shop, and two of our friends are still unemployed. We all find ourselves thinking about when our two unemployed friends will get adjusted in a department and start earning money for themselves .
It has become our habit that whenever we go anywhere, we all go together. We also have a tendency to roam around more, so we never tell our friends to stay behind. Nowadays, we usually meet in the evenings or on holidays to go out, and we always make arrangements to sit somewhere and eat something. Since we enjoy cooking, we share the meals we prepare with each other. We keep some utensils, food items, and spices in my car, which we use whenever we reach our destination.
We have traveled together to many places, and this year, we visited three or four places as well. We always make compromises and never argue with each other. Our friendship is our identity, and we are well-known in our entire village for our bond. Our opinions on certain matters may differ, but we never let those differences affect our relationship. Instead, we always respect each other and agree to disagree. We are all kind-hearted friends, and we always maintain respect for one another.
I want our friendship to last a lifetime and for our bond to never weaken. All my friends are invaluable, and their presence in my life is nothing less than a blessing. I pray for a long life for all of them and ask Allah to protect them from any harm.
