This is the artwork that I want to share with you today. It's a realistic pencil portrait of a guy smiling happily. It is a commission piece.

I love adding background to my drawings, especially the one that the subject is wearing a white cloth.
Why I love background is because it enhance aesthetic: A well-rendered background can add visual interest and enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the artwork.

Also, a background can give a sense of completeness to the artwork, making it feel more finished and refined. You can see that in the progress shots below.
