Hello steemians, some years back I was commissioned by my elder brother to do a family portrait of him is wife and kid in one frame, this work took me like over a month to complete, at first I rushed the work and then made a lot of mistakes because I was so stressed out while creating. After putting in so much work at first and almost half way in finishing, I noticed an error on the work, I had to start all over again. This work really tested my patience and endurance skills because it all came at a point where I was really busy and the only time I could draw was late in the night when everyone was sleeping. After much consideration I had to start all over again so that I can beat my deadline and one thing was sure I didn’t want to make any mistake again. So one faithful day I started it again and threw the old work away.

This work stress me a lot but I was glad I was able to complete it at the end. Each time I see it I remembered how tiring it was to create such piece.

Materials used

Here are some key materials I used during this drawing

📌 Mono Eraser:

It is a sharp like eraser inform of a pen or pencil, it also has a refill

📌 Electric Eraser:

This eraser has a refiller, it makes use of Battery, ones you insert the battery and then press the “On” button it will begin to vibrate and that’s how you will use the mouth of the electric eraser to clean out unwanted areas.

📌 Kneaded Eraser:

This Eraser is the last item on this picture its inform of a Dough, you can squeeze it into any shape of your choice and when you apply it on a paper, it will attract or clean up that area of your drawing. It is often used also for detailing and highlighting in a drawing.

📌 Glossy Paper :

This is the paper I usually use for my commission works

Another materials used are

📌 Tortillon :

This are paperlike material in a cylindrical shape, it is used to blend or blur charcoal pencil on paper

📌 Smoth Brush:

used also for blending and blurring

#📌 Clutch Pensil :
It is used for drawing our sharp lines or making sketches, this clutch pencil also has a refill

📌 Charcoal Pencil:

This Pencil is like one of the main item on materials I used, this is what I use in detailing drawing and making my work come alive.

some Progress

I started off with the background at the left side, when shading larger areas what I do is I scrape some part of my charcoal pencil inform of a dust, and then deep my brush before applying on paper

This was when I delivered the work after framing it and we had hang it on the wall.
