Climate Change through tree planting
While the Ugandan schools have closed for the festive holidays, some classes still do holiday lessons . I and my colleagues visited one located in the shores of lake Bunyonyi for tree planting program. Over two hundred pupils still do holiday lessons and finish by afternoon and also about 60% of them are from across the lake so they have to canoe to the mainland to access education.
We distributed over a hundred tree species that are indigenous and were planted around the school and in the community.
We had a chance to meet some of the locals as well and taught them about the effects of tree cutting and benefits of having more trees planted and were so positive about the concerns of climate change.
My good friends Rev. Hillary, Mrs. Bridget and Mr. Wilber also participated in the activity although we were later disrupted by heavy rains that made us postpone some of the progress.
As it rained heavily, I decided to go take a shade at the foreign resident's home where I met nice guests that knew me before. It was all a vibe having a conversation together and I was surprised they have been following me on my Instagram account liking my photography and mountain biking.
It was getting clearer and late so I had to give them a goodbye and head back home.
Thank you for always liking my posts and my travel journey through the photographs. I will always share with you more interesting stories and photos please.
