What a fantastic study here by @ezunjoshy! Go see his work and process here.

I wanted to again offer some analysis here but it is a tough one because it has absolutely so much going on that is spot on. I really like how @ezunjoshy blended the paints around. The lighting on the tomato looks very realistic, giving it that glossy look. Overall it is a very tasteful study, nice work!

Because there is nothing glaring to find here I had to really pull out my magnifying glass to find literally anything that could improve this piece. As I was observing this I noticed that the color of the tomato doesn't really change hue during the transition. There is nothing wrong with this approach, but this is an opportunity for us to introduce some color variety into the piece. Here I've painted up a quick sphere to explore the colors used. Notice how the tick mark shows that the green is staying fairly still.

Here I've tried to introduce some color variety into the scene. Going warmer toward the light side and cooler/bluer toward the shadow side. It's incredibly subtle but when we add some variety to our color it creates a bit of excitement and competition in the colors and that will make both sides of our tomato pop!

Here is a quick paint over of the original painting by @ezunjoshy using the explored variety. It's not a huge change but I think it make the bright side of the tomato feel a little bit brighter. As a general rule I usually try to take the base color and go a little bit warmer toward yellows (sunlight) on the lit side and a little bit cooler toward the blues on the shadow side.

Thank you so much for taking this opportunity to paint along and learn with me. I want to cycle back again and congratulate you on your keen observation of the reference. You made the most out of the warm and cool in the background and didn't really miss a beat when it came to the bounced light on the tomatoes and the ground. It's not easy to keep all these subtle changes in mind while painting and I think you really nailed it!

If you'd like to go over my original lesson check it out here:

I you want to go over how I made some of these color choices in this study you'll find a basic primer here.

If you need help getting started drawing, I highly recommend you head over to @jorgevandeperre's blog and start following along his lesson plans. @jorgevandeperre has over 30+ exercises to get started and is even giving out rewards to students who complete homework!

I don't think he'll need me for too long, haha, he's got a good eye for color!

The time is not important, the result is important. There is no limit to perfection :)

My mind's blown, thanks for taking time to point out corrections.
There were so many things I learnt in this study as well as when making the painting.
I can't wait for the next.
