The praying mantis receives many different names in different countries: santateresa, silbata, mamboretá, campamocha or tatadiós. In Venezuela we call it "tara". They are usually green or brown. A yellow one entered in my house, it was on the table in the diner room. The yellow mantis religiosa are the ones that have a kind of eyes in the back (Simple spots that seem to be eyes) And they have five real eyes: The two big ones and three small ones between them. Perhaps a predator that approaches it from behind thinks it is being watched by the spots and leaves without trying to eat it, believing that it is seeing it.
