THE REAL CAUSE OF BRUCE LEE'S DEATH

On July 20, 1973, Bruce Lee was at his home in Kowloon discussing the script for "Game with Death" with Raymond Chow, casting a Taiwanese actress named Betty Ting Pei for a major female role in the film.

Raymond Chow was cast. He went home because he had to get dressed for a dinner he had that night with Bruce Lee and actor 007 George Lazenby. Chow planned to persuade Lazenby to work alongside Bruce for the movie "I Play With Death." Bruce Lee was at Betty Ting Pei's house planning the script, when suddenly his head started to hurt a lot, so Betty gave him a painkiller, specifically "Equagesic", then around 7:30 pm he decides to go to bed for a while at see if it happened and went to the bedroom.

At 9:00 pm, Raymond Chow telephoned Betty's house to see why Bruce had not attended dinner at the restaurant they stayed, Betty told him that she could not disturb Bruce because he was sleeping, when he went to the bedroom to trying to wake him up, he did not respond, he had entered a deep sleep from which he would never wake up.

At 10 minutes an emergency doctor arrived at Betty's house to try to revive Bruce, but seeing that he did not respond, they called an ambulance that arrived around 10:00 pm to take him to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Raymond telephoned Linda to let her know what had happened. When Bruce arrived at the Hospital, the doctors rushed him into intensive care and began giving cardiac massages for his resuscitation, followed by an injection of stimulant drugs directly into the heart, as well as electric shocks, but to no avail, Bruce Lee had already passed away, right at 32 years of age.

Bruce Lee's body was buried in the "Lake View Cemetery" in the city of Seattle. The final speech at the funeral was delivered by James Coburn, whose last words were of thanks to his teacher Bruce Lee. On Lee's headstone it was simply written: "Bruce Lee. From November 27, 1940 to July 20, 1973. The Founder of Jeet Kune Do."
