WOX Travel Contest | Week 19- Perisher Valley - ACT - NSW

Today, I will take you to one of Australia's most visited and favorite places for skiing lovers, the Perisher Valley. Thanks to @o1eh for his WOX Travel Contest | Week 19 which gave me this opportunity.

  
I went to this snow resort Perisher last in the month of June 2020, my favorite winter destination, That's right, May and June are Australia's top winter months.

We just wanted to get away from the routine of Canberra, so we three families drove about 240 km and reached this wide open space, which was not new to us, but it attracts us for its huge variety of entertainment and a feeling of freedom to do new things with family and friends.

I have seen many bigger skiing peaks in the Himalayas at a higher altitude, but very few like this in the Southern Hemisphere.

Perisher Resort is located in Kosciuszko National Park, with a large number of lifts (47), a good number of terrain parks, and walking trails. We enjoy this place in every weather condition, whether snow or no snow, ice or no ice. Actually, there is so much to see there.

Let me accept that I am no good at skiing, but I always try to do it and trust me, I can ski for a few meters without falling on my side, as falling flat on the face has remote chances. So as I said, I am not an expert but just a beginner at skiing, but I always find it nice to be at Perisher.

Then we have a couple of other places that we visit on every trip, like Smiggin Holes and Blue Cow, that provide once-in-a-lifetime views. Wow, the steeps are really amazing at Perisher, Kamikaze, and Rock Garden.

Let me tell you that we visit this area, which is not far off from Canberra, so when a friend visits us and insists on going to the Snowy Mountains, we take him to Perisher, our favorite destination. The resort has a lot on offer, including night skiing, fireworks, and tons of adventure on and off the slopes.

So the last time we visited with our friends, we spent our days in Perisher Valley and then went to Blue Cow and other places where we could travel by car.

Let me introduce Perisher which is the land of Aboriginals the Monero Ngarigo people if you visit this area the Kosciuszko National Park you will see a number of traditions followed by them and I appreciate the way the Australians respect them.

Perisher Ski Resort is not very old but it came into existence in 1995 combined with all surroundings of Mount Blue Cow, the Guthega, and the Skitube alpine railway. Incidentally, before that, this area belonged to graziers during the summers. But now that the ways of dairies and grazing have changed but they have retained their name after the perishing cows.

Likewise, the Smiggin Holes has a Scottish connection and a story but I am sure no one is interested in stories here. But yes, we still have traditional methods adopted by tourists and enjoy them. However, we had only a limited time I mean the weekend at our disposal so we always missed those horse-drawn sleighs and the works people that take a full tour of five days.

But I have a plan to make it a longer trip to Mt. Blue Cow, Guthega and Skitube Alpine Railway come the next winter in May-June.

Note- When I took these photos I didn't know that I will use them in a travel blog so these are kind of personal images but the next time I will take them a little more cautiously.
