Hi friends... how are you..? It is a pleasure to meet you again after a long time.

Today I am adding to the Steemit platform some ideas about water which is very essential for us to live. Due to some very busy and problematic situations these days, it was difficult for me to stay in the Steemit platform. Today I am going to compete on the Steemit platform with the contest title "🆕 Photo of the week #139: The water". For this contest, I am presenting today about Kandalam Reservoir, which is a big reservoir in our country. Before talking about the reservoir, I will give a brief introduction about water. Because the title of this competition is about water. Water is a transparent, tasteless, odorless and colorless substance. And the way this water exists according to the earth's temperature and pressure is different under several conditions.

On average, water is liquid at Earth's temperature and freezes as ice at lower temperatures (glaciers). Also, at high temperatures, it evaporates as small water particles. Water is one of the most abundant substances on Earth, covering about 71% of its surface. It is found in oceans, rivers, lakes, glaciers, underground reservoirs and even as vapor in the atmosphere. Water is a basic and essential compound for life. Water plays an important role in various biological processes, including supporting life, acting as a solvent for biochemical reactions, and providing a medium for the transport of nutrients and wastes within living organisms.

_{The reservoir seen in the photos in this post is one of the most popular and touristic reservoirs in Sri Lanka. Kandalam city is a very famous city. The dam in this reservoir is about 21 meters (69 feet) high and 1600 meters (5200 feet) wide. Also, a large hotel has been built bordering the lake. This hotel is also very popular among local and foreign tourists. The reason for this is that the beauty of the Kandalama Reservoir seen from the lodge can be seen to the fullest. The reservoir has a maximum length of 4.8 km and a maximum width of 2.3 km, spread over an area of about 102 square km. The total water capacity of this group reservoir is about 33300000 cubic meters.}
