The history of music artists; The new group perceiving and being today in Norway, and they are Bjørnstad, Christensen and Drecker!
Between Hotels and Time is a special song with general and specific statements about what life is, how we are perceiving life, and how we are operating and understanding our environments, regardless of where we are on the globe, and this is how we are operating as we are operating, working and relaxing from place to place and from time to time. All hotels in the worlds are about using living things and unliving things, and we are just in life or dead all humans to all times.
There is created a magical autumn atmosphere of three incredible clever artists in different things in life, for instance literature and music, and they are also friends. We want them welcome in our lives!
There is not all the case, especially when it comes to art when you can be friends or enemies, but sometimes one can feel the importance of a friendship, and not all things are necessary to be said, but it may remain unsaid for a number of years. The album with 18 creative songs: Between Hotels and Time is marking the friendship between three extraordinary artist, and we can be wherever where we want, for instance in a hotel in Tokyo, Paris, New York, Australia or where we like to be.
The jazz pianist Ketil Bjørnstad, the vocalist Anneli Drecker and the author Lars Saabye Christensen have used their friendship as a base for the creation of the new jazz plate: “Between Hotels and Time”. The result is a timeless and magnificent album with 18 new songs. These three exceptional artists are all their champions in their different fields. And together they are contributing with their strengths, and they enrich and complement each other, and their compositions are probably the best Norway is making of modern music today in different markets.
The hurt and raw poetry of Lars Saabye Christensen which is sung and conveyed by the beautiful voice to Anneli Drecker and which is accompanied by expressive piano notes to Ketil Bjørnstad. The albums contains both calm and atmospheric songs in addition to more rhythmic and tasty tunes. Examples on these songs are for instance “The Pawn Shop band” and “Theif”. The more hurtful and heartfelt of songs, one is gettings in songs as “The Finder” and “Serbelloni Memories”. The musical landscape is to different times, and this is floating and soft and that adds to the listening experience and what we hear in the music from this group is nostalgic at times and sometimes it is dreamy.
Ketil Bjørnstad is saying this about the process of making the album “Between Hotels and Time” that all art is coming from experience, from dreams, for things in your life, and from grief, loss and fear. And although the fact is such, we are finding the way back to the art, again and again, in the seach for both comfort and new insight. And when working together as a team, doing practice with teamwork, this work is a mutual agreement between the actors. And it is always trus, and never never uproarious discussions. And discussions are just abstracts that we are filling with content and structure. And therefore, quality and quantity in our works are always there to fight hard enough, and to be wide in perceiving the life and the environments.
This band as mentioned above played the songs live, without any practice, and just the practice that the three different members were doing on their own, in each of the part of Norway, and the enthusiasm grew by hearing these songs be created in the place, the distance, and in the room and the space between the members. They experienced how good they knew each other, although they had not met each other billions of times, but this was just a feeling. You know the singing, the playing and taking the literature with content in the melodies, that was just in accordance to how the nerves in the friendship of the members really was.
So, enjoy your time by listening to these songs, and try to learn something in your life, and may you and me can also be more creative than them with making new songs, new literature, or what content that is for the people, and being pleased with knowing people.
