As I have said before "Music is my mind-altering substance of choice." I stand by that. Still.

There's enough to write a book, here — so many songs that have a memory attached to them; I listen, and I drift away again, almost like the sonic landscape re-triggers the endorphins of the original moments.

I loved the music... but I was usually the designated driver who bailed my friends out of the "sober-up tank" at the local police station; whether they were high or drunk as skunks.

Which was OK. I was pretty much born stoned. Given the right moment; perhaps the right person... I sometimes think my body produces and releases DMT without actual chemical activation.
