WOX TRAVEL CONTEST | WEEK 13
Traveling Walvis Bay Namibia
Without further ado let's get to it. I am taking you through the local shopping mall where you can find about anything and everything that doesn't have to do with a screen.
In the heart of a bustling African town, the local shopping area cames alive with the sounds and sights of daily life. This vibrant marketplace, known as "Ekutu market," is a hub of activity, drawing people from near and far.
At the break of dawn, vendors hurriedly set up their stalls and arranging their goods with care.
Fresh produce, colorful fabrics and aromatic spices filles the air with a sensory feast. The rich scent of freshly baked fat cake bread enticing passersby to pause and indulge.
Erasmus, a young man with a warm smile, rans a small stall selling shiped clothing and woven mats. Each item was a work of art, reflecting the hard work passed down through generations.
As he carefully placed his goods on display, he greeted familiar faces with a friendly nod and exchanged pleasantries with fellow vendors.
Nearby, a lively group of children gathered around an elderly storyteller named Kofi. His deep, resonant voice captivated their attention as he spun tales of ancient heroes and mythical creatures. The children's eyes sparkled with wonder, transported to distant worlds through his words.
Amidst the lively chatter and bustling activity, music floats through the air. A group of musicians played traditional drums and mbira, their rhythms adding to the market's vibrant atmosphere. People sway to the beat, momentarily forgetting their worries in the embrace of the music.
As the sun climbs higher, the market grows even busier.
Shoppers haggle with vendors over prices, laughter and animated conversations punctuating the air.
Despite the hustle, there is a sense of community and camaraderie that bound everyone together.
As the day grows to a close, the market slowly begin's to wind down. Erasmus packs up his unsold clothes with a sense of contentment, knowing that tomorrow would bring another day of opportunity and connection in the lively heart of the Ekutu Market.
There's a low population count some would wonder if this works for the vendors but they are people of God.
