Hello all and welcome to my match preview to the Villareal vs Manchester United champions league game.

After a fine display from Villareal in their first leg against united, they did however end up at the losing side which just proved that without quality at the top half of the pitch, you might not win games.

United were second best for large periods of the game but last minute heroics from the champions league man Cristiano Ronaldo gave them the win and all the points.

Unai Emery's men are top of the group F with Manchester United in seconf but on goal difference. They are both on 7 points.

Things at Manchester United are not looking very good at the moment and to be honest I think it's worse than before.

Yes, I think nobody denies the fact the Ole deserved the sack lonf before the Warford game but to sack just Ole and leave his entire coaching staff doesn't make sense.

It makes me think the owners did this because they had no other choice and they had to calm their fans. Ole has said himself Carrick and Fletcher coach the team and so for them to stilll be at the club and even having Carrick as i"nterim" or caretaker before an interim manager is appointed till the end of the season shows there was no plan in place for sacking Ole.

So was sacking Ole really the best decision if there's no one to take the job? I leave this to you guys to decide in the comment section.

Let's get into the game at hand.

Villareal have shown they can defeat Manchester United or frustrate them like they've done in their last 2 meetings but if Unai Emery wants a win in this game, his players will need to have their shooting boots on.

On the other hand Manchester United haven't had great success in Spain and I think they have won only 7 of their last twenty five or twenty something games 🤔. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

There are major player doubts for Villareal like Gerad Moreno, Asenjo, Danjuma, etc. For Man Utd, Varane, Shaw and Cavani are doubts as well.

Formation and Predicted XI:

Villareal.

Unai Emery's Villareal are likely to go with a 4-3-3 formation with Rulli in goal and a back 4 of Foyth, Albiol, Torres and Alfonso Pedraza. They're likely to have a midfield of Manu Trigueros, Dani Parejo and Francis Coquelin with an attacking trio of Chukwueze, Yeremi Pino and Dia.

Manchester United.

Micheal Carrick said in his pre match conference yesterday that he and Ole have the same tactical thinking😅 which I think he was being honest since he coaches the team. I did see a lot of backlash on twitter from United fans but the man was just being honest🤪😂.

With this I think he will go with their usual 4-2-3-1 with David De Gea in goal and a back 4 of Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, captain Maguire and Luke Shaw. A double pivot of Fred and McTominy, Bruno playing behind Ronaldo and wingers of Rashford and Jadon Sancho is what I think he'll go with.

Manchester United fans will go crazy if they don't see Vand De Beek in the line up again.

Key Men.

For Manchester United, it's Ronaldo for me and there's no arguments there for me because he's been their champions keague hero all this while and I he will be instrumental if they are to come out with a win.

Villareal Yeri Pino is the guy for me if he starts.
He has 1 goal and no assist from 4 games in the champions league but we all know the quality he has and with this United defence, he might add to his goal tally.

I sure hope this game is very entertaining. I don't know why but I only see a Manchester United defeat here🤷🏾‍♂️.

No doubt Villarreal will disturb Man U. And looking at their previous games they aren’t doing well. I just have a feeling that Man U will win the game or worse draw.😂 it’s just a feeling am having😉

😂 I get the feeling. I would love nothing more than a Villarreal win but they don’t finish off their chances. And we know how clinical Man united can be
They could go to Spain and put 5 goals past them and we’ll all say the Red Devils are back😂

If I hadn't read that Carrick was in charge, I'd have expected a bit of a bounce back now that Ole's gone. But Carrick's no better. So I fear for Man Utd tonight.

Well that worked out well for them. But their performance wasn’t really that different from what we’ve seen under Ole in my opinion.

Good result, possibly due to the fringe players that had something to prove. I didn't watch it though so don't know if it was the same crap from a similar manager!

It was a bit better with Van De Beek and Sancho especially having points to prove

Who's favourite to become the next manager? It's a shame Gerrard's gone to Villa 🤣 Roy Keane would make an impact.

😂 they’re in a mess. I’m hearing Ragnirick will be interim till the end of the season. Maybe they think they’ll get Poch in the summer.

That's one name I've never heard of. They should see how Pogba gets on as player/manager.

Apparently he brought the German pressing game. I’m sure even Pogba wouldn’t want the job😂
