CITYSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST | London
Naturally, as usual for London, the weather was typically English - cloudy and wet, but that gave a special charm to the setting here. We took some pictures of the River Thames and the impressive Houses of Parliament, where the legendary Big Ben is located. A little further we found ourselves in front of Westminster Abbey, which impresses with its architecture and historical significance.
Big Ben appeared in front of us, which is one of the most famous sights of London and a symbol of the British capital. This structure is a clock tower located at the northern end of the Palace of Westminster.
The sound of the bell echoes every quarter of an hour.
While we were walking, in the vicinity of Big Ben, we met a street musician playing the bagpipes in traditional Scottish costume. His tune caught our attention from afar, as well as many. This added to our sense of this authentic place.
The next landmark we came across was the London Eye, the giant Ferris wheel that offers incredible panoramic views of the entire city. From there we continued our walk to Buckingham Palace, the official residence of the British Queen. It was exciting to see the palace up close and feel its historical significance.
Finally, we had the opportunity to approach the Queen Victoria Memorial, a beautiful monument dedicated to Queen Victoria.
This long and eventful walk ended with a nice dinner with my wife when we decided to try the local dark beer in a cozy pub.
A little later that evening we had to catch our flight back home, but the memories of that day will live long in our minds. London is truly a city that must be seen at least once in a lifetime.
