Cezve Coffee
Today I remembered that I haven't had cezve coffee in a long time and I decided to recall this taste. I immediately turned on the stove and could faintly smell the aromatic coffee. It brought me back to my childhood, when every morning my mother prepared freshly brewed coffee in the cezve. I remembered her carefully grinding it, adding water and letting it simmer on low heat. The aroma was so strong that it filled the entire kitchen and woke us up from sleep. Memories flooded my mind like a wave. I imagined sitting next to her at the breakfast table, watching her stir the coffee with a wooden spoon until it was ready to drink. She always made sure it wasn't too hot so we could comfortably take our first sip of the day. The coffee had a rich, thick flavor that couldn't be replicated by machines or capsules. It was something special that only the cezve could create.
I decided to recreate this memory and enjoy a cup of coffee like I used to. I dug the old cezve out of the cupboard, cleaned it thoroughly and placed it on the stove. As the water boiled, I began to think of all those mornings I had spent with my mother drinking coffee from the kettle. There was something comforting about the ritual, something that connected the past to the present. When the coffee was ready, I poured it into my favorite porcelain mug and added some sugar and milk. Taking the first sip, the taste hit me like a thunderbolt. It was just as I remembered it - strong, rich and full of life. I closed my eyes and let the taste fill my mouth, taking me back to those precious moments spent with my mother. As I sipped my coffee, I realized how much this meant to me. It's not just about the taste or even the memories. It's about the connection we share with the people close to us and how those connections continue to shape our lives. Drinking cezve coffee this morning reminded me of my mother and the love she has given me throughout my life.
This experience made me appreciate even more the simple pleasures in life - like a morning cup of cezve coffee - and the importance of creating lasting memories with the people we love. Because in the end, it is these moments that connect us to each other and give us the strength to move forward :)
The only sensible and correct way to prepare coffee! I'm so glad I'm not the only one... People always look at me strangely when I don't like the vending machine coffee.
