Photographing Flowers Week #2 Entry : Clitoria ternatea

I was asked to visit and to deal with some documents in Marikina .During the lounge time where stories were shared and my cousin suddenly commented that he was pursuing farming Citronella and some Tea plants. Well obviously we asked about it but it was according to him that the planning is on its initial phase and he dont want to share more about the whole thing cause he doesnt want it to be jinxed but he suddenly went to kitchen and pilled up some blue drink, at first I was thinking maybe it was a lemonade with his exhibition of adding lemons as garnish but its just weird that its not in the lemonade itself. Then he told us to watch his sort of sorcery when he squeeze some lemon into the drink and the drink changed its color into violet and red .And we were caught up with his improtu-exhibition that I was not able to take a picture of the whole thing but I added a picture with citation to it so you can picture it out.The taste is not bad and has a sort of earthly flavor to it.

But the exhibition is one of the teas that he is talking about and of course we are in awe of it. Its Butterfly Pea Tea from a dried flower of Clitoria ternatea.The color of the tea changes according to its ph level.Aside from its awesome color changing ability, the tea has several benefits like Uplifting mood, digestion and weight loss facilitation, enhances the skin and stimulates hair growth.

He is also trying to discover some stuff that can be added into it that allows it change its ph level and what color will it change into, he is pretty into it that he also bought some ph test strips but he doesnt want to show some of his experiments to us even via chat, He told us that he will do it when we went there again.I guess I'll have another opportunity to document the whole thing and share it with you guys.

This the picture of his actual plants of Clitoria ternatea at the back of the house.The flower looks like a female genitals(please, no malice on that part) and I'm guessing it has the same rootword for its genus name thats why its Clitoria from clitoris, for petals-its smooth and it has a sort of peabod green peas kind of fruit that is also captured in the first picture below.I really want to pick some flowers to dry and also do the whole experiment for myself but I did not cause I know my cousin is very particular about his plants so I just hid my excitement and just went with the whole thing.
