You decided to limit yourself to post-processing the photo. This is also a good option to participate in our event. It was originally planned that way - post-processing.

As for the method you applied. Yes, the photo consists conditionally of two parts - light and dark. The dynamic range of the camera and lens turned out to be insufficient to show individual details simultaneously in a light and dark area. At the same time, the dark area suffered the most. That's what you decided to lighten up so that you could see individual details. But by applying lightening tools to the entire image, you have simultaneously lightened an already quite bright area of the sky. As a result, the sky overexposure turned out to be even more pronounced.

You can try to lighten only the dark area of the image. for example, apply the shadows tool. You can also apply a gradient filter and use it to lighten only the selected dark area of the image.

As for trimming, it's good that you didn't trim the lantern on the left. He is part of the composition and plays an important role in it. Even a slight cropping of the left edge of the image weakened the overall composition. I think I shouldn't have done that.

Tomorrow I will try to create a post with a simple post-processing of this image using the tools of the Lightrum program and show the work of different settings of these tools.

Что касается применённого вами метода. Да, фотография состит условно из двух частей - светлой и тёмной. Динамический диапазон камеры и объектива оказался недостаточным, чтобы показать отдельные детали одновременно в светлой и тёмной области. При этом больше всего "пострадала тёмная область. Именно её вы и решили осветлить, чтобы можно было увидеть отдельные детали. Но применяя инструменты осветления ко всему снимку, вы одновременно осветлили и так уже достаточно светлую область неба. В результате на небе пересвет оказался ещё более выраженным.

Можно попробовать осветлить только тёмную область изображения. например, применить инструмент "тени". Можно также применить градиентный фильтр и осветлить с его помощью только выделенную тёмную зону снимка.

Что касается обрезки, это хорошо, что вы не обрезали фонарь слева. Он является частью композиции и играет в ней свою важную роль. Даже небольшое обрезание левого края изображения ослабило общую композицию. Я думаю, что не стоило этого делать.

Завтра я попробую создать пост с простой постобработкой этого изображения с помощью инструментов программы Лайтрум и показать работу разных настроек этих инструментов.
