Ice Fishing on Lake Winnebago
Hello Steemit friends and family. I hope everyone is doing fantastic. I just wanted to share a couple pictures from my frozen adventure.
My frozen adventure started out on a brisk Sunday afternoon in Oshkosh WI US. The temperature outside was 32° F so I bundled up real good putting on my boots, jacket, and hat. I drove down to Lake Winnebago parked my car. I then decided to venture out on the frozen lake. I took the first couple steps and found myself suspended on top of the ice. The ice was shifting so it was making loud cracking sounds mixed in with the occasional boom. Now I was a little fearful with all the noises coming from the ice but knew the ice was about 18 inches thick and safe enough to drive a truck on. I did not go out on the ice to chicken out an come back to shore right away so I continued further out onto the ice. I walked about an eighth of a mile out on the ice and was met with a ice fishing shanty in my path. I decided to risk scaring the fish away and walked closer for a picture of the shanty. I took a couple pictures and then just enjoyed the calming peacefulness of this frozen paradise.

It is still winter in Wisconsin with cold days and ice covered lake. I can imagine that ice will become thinner and the temperature will slowly get up.

I agree that the ice will get real thin pretty soon. Spring is right around the corner here in Wisconsin.

It is pretty cool fishing on the ice when you can. It almost feels surreal like your on a different planet.

Greetings @andre-verbrick, great this adventures on the ice, I have never had the opportunity to meet with ice like this, but thank God that with snow if, calls me the antennae in particular of these icy climates, of precisely that, the fact of transiting on large masses of ice that crunch under where you walk, must be a frightening experience but at the same time amazing, I hope at some point in my life do a similar feat, greetings from Venezuela
