Special days are meant to be celebrated with special ones! For me, my best friends are my special people. I believe friends who share birthday months have a bond that stands the test of time. With our university about to reopen, we friends gathered for a day full of enjoyment, fun, and memories—a perfect escape from academic pressure and stress

My best friend had her birthday yesterday, a day I was eagerly waiting for. I had grand celebrations planned at a restaurant, but since her birthday fell on a Friday and most outdoor places open by 5 pm, we postponed the lunch plan. Instead, we settled for an awesome celebration at our university.

To make her feel special, I matched my outfit with hers—we wore sky blue outfits. Although it wasn’t a planned theme, it turned into one. My other friend unknowingly wore sky blue too. Along with another friend, I decorated a bench in our university garden with balloons and birthday cards. We bought party poppers and snow spray from the souvenir shop, and everything turned out to match perfectly, creating a summer-themed ambiance with white balloons and silver cards

As soon as the chocolate fudge cake arrived, we called the rest of our friends, who were keeping Rabia company in the library so she wouldn’t see the preparations. One of us covered her eyes and led her to the garden. We popped balloons overhead, and she got scared at first, but we burst into a chorus of 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANEMIC!' (We call her Anemic because she often feels fatigued, like someone with anemia).

We clicked a lot of photos and made mini videos. Rabia became emotional and told us it was her first non-family birthday surprise. We all hugged her and calmed her down. She cut the cake, and we all smashed it. The cream created a mess, spilling on Rabia’s new suit. She rushed to clean up, and when she came back, we started the highlight of the day—a riotous snow spray battle

Omer brought another cake, surprisingly with my name on it too, because he missed my birthday a few days back. The memories of that day, from heartfelt surprises to shared laughter, are locked deep in my heart
