I wonder what the hashtag #blog means
I wonder what the hashtag #blog means
It's one of several widely used tags. But then I don't know if users still do searches by tags..
I do because I like to see certain topics but they are a mess and most have no idea how to use them.
Within Steemit there's no other option to find posts with a certain topic unless you know who writes what but this also means you never meet someone new with the same interest.
Unlike other social media it's also needed to make your post visible on the internet although several countries are blocked same if it comes to X
I agree, tags on Steemit are not very intuitive, and users often use them randomly, maybe choosing the most popular ones even if they don't match their topic.
Perhaps a more organized system or automatic suggestions could help improve this mess..
I believe most don't even know the meaning of it which is the biggest problem. It would be helpful if communities with a topic would have their hashtags, same for the contests hosted in that community.
That would make it easier to find posts back. I give up on writing about it because I did it twice before and what I cannot find it's a pity but won't be read and I can't comment on it either. If the author doesn't care about promoting himself this is his/her own choice.
