With this post I would like to provide some brief notions about the technical topic mentioned in the subject.
The context in which we operate is that of analytical geometry
(code notes: MOD-87)
Matrix Operations
In this article I show an operation performed between matrices.
Matrix Sum
Let's take as an example the matrix B and the matrix C shown below.
let's now see how to perform a sum between matrices.
since the matrices are both formed by three rows and 2 columns, therefore they are 3x2 matrices, we can add each element to each other, that is, the element 1,1 of matrix B with its counterpart of matrix C.
Below is a scheme of what I have just described.
In the first case we will have that the sum will be between 2+1, then between 3+0 and so on.
let's add each element of the first row and the first column of each matrix
Continuing to the last elements of the matrices we will obtain the sum matrix B+C
Conclusions
A matrix is an ordered table of numbers arranged in rows and columns, and represents a function that maps points from one space (or coordinate system) to another.
Question
Have you ever tried to add two matrices?

At university, I remember that this topic was not easy for me, luckily it is not too relevant in my current work.
Exactly!!! You hit the nail on the head. At some point matrix operations become complicated and are usually of little use in most day-to-day work.
Wow very detailed and self explained. I love how you actually took your time to explain this in detail. This makes me to remember years ago when I was learning matrix in mathematics, it was kind of at first frustrating
Some professors do not understand that matrices are an unusual thing in everyone's life. Explaining the operations between them very well is important, but I notice that many cannot explain matrices well either with words or with examples.
