Sri Lankan martial artists
Dear Friends,
Today I'm going to talk about traditional material art techniques practiced in Sri Lanka which is called "Angampora". It started 30000 years ago in the island of Sri Lanka. There were basically 3 tribes called Yaksha , Naga and Dewa. This material arts are originated form this "Yaksha tribe". Angam or Angampora means hand to hand combat , that means no weapon's involved in fighting. And there are other techniques which are named as Ilangam and _Maya Angam , those are the techniques which use different types of wepon's and mental attacks from developed mind . But some historical sources state that Ravana , a king ruled sri lanka before 5000 years was the founder of this Angampora.
This fighting technique is very dangerous compared to other techniques in world. We know that normal attacking techniques like strikes , locks , blocks and grips are very common for all of them. But in _Angampora they use Pressure Point Attacks , attacks targeting nerve system which can make you even paralysis instantly.
The Pressure Point Attacks also called Maru Kala is the most significant technique one can learn in Angamporta. It's a really advanced status and not every fighter get the opportunity to learn them. A person should have a proper mental status to control the power after learning them. The knowledge to attack crucial nerve points in the human body will give him the ability to kill few persons in a instant of time. Depending on the power , time , and area he covers and on the pattern he attacks he can even decide which body parts should be paralysis. He can make the opponent a quick death or make him incompetent. Only few selected can study them and knowledge comes from father to the son. One must swear a oath by the name of Buddha before learning , not to harm anyone using this knowledge but for self defense.

Due to this tradition this martial art (Angampora) slowly fades from the new generation. As popularity increasing towards Kung fu & Karate such inheritance must be protected.
