POWER DOWN PER MOTIVI DI SALUTE IN BRASILE/POWER DOWN CAUSE HEALTH ISSUES IN BRAZIL

Cari amici, trovo corretto fornire adeguate spiegazioni per il mio power down. Dovete sapere che si tratta di tutto, meno di un capriccio e men che meno intendo danneggiare la comunità. Purtroppo una malattia piuttosto seria che dovrebbe comportare un'operazione chirurgica mi ci ha costretto. Le cure in America latina dove vivo sono costose, non esistono esenzioni dal pagamento se non per insulina e farmaci ipotensivi (ma quello che ho non è nè diabete nè ipertensione: si tratta di miomi uterini che stanno portando a conseguenze devastanti) e un mercantilismo della salute comporta prezzi da far venire il sangue marcio (figuratevi che una scatola di antibiotici arriva a costare quasi quanto un decimo di uno stipendio minimo, pensate un po' quindi che casino se un'intera famiglia monostipendio si dovesse ammalare da necessitare cure antibitiche). La malattia che innanzi tutto mi ha fatto correre di urgenza in un ospedale privato (non ero nemmeno sicura che avrei passato la notte perchè le coliche erano fortissime, insopportabili) mi è costata 775,07 reais di solo visita, prelievo e flebo. Per non parlare di altri 100 per i farmaci prescritti. Praticamente quel che mediamente tiro su in tre mesi con il mio CNPJ (la partita IVA locale). Sono autonoma e quindi non conto su uno stipendio dal tetto sicuro di un lavoro subordinato tradizionale. In questa zona geografica e considerato il mio stato di salute che non brilla (anche prima della crisi della settimana scorsa, c'era comunque e sempre il mio intestino capriccioso a fare il bello e il cattivo tempo come e quando gli pare senza riguardo a niente e nessuno), la migliore e più veloce scappatoia per garantirmi una pensione nella terza età (se ci arrivo) è un CNPJ (una partita IVA). Purtroppo ho bisogno di recuperare questi soldi spesi, che con il mio solo lavoro d'insegnante via "nanoimpresa" (tra l'altro lavoro sospeso sempre causa malattia) è al momento poco e niente fattibile. Se mi chiederete perchè non mi sono rivolta a un ospedale pubblico (che però temo sarà quel che mi potrebbe toccare se la mia ginecologa conferma la necessità di operarmi), il motivo è il seguente: vivo in un'area geografica dove un unico ospedale pubblico serve un'area grande quanto metà Italia settentrionale. Con l'aggravante che un minuto si e l'altro pure giungono feriti d'arma da fuoco perchè si tratta pure della zona più pericolosa di tutto il paese, dove il traffico di droga con le sue relative guerriglie è alle stelle. Potete quindi immaginarvi le condizioni di un ospedale oltremodo sovraffollato, dove i pazienti lamentano 13 ore di attesa per essere visitati da un medico. Trascorrendo tutta la notte senza chiudere occhio in sala d'aspetto e magari pure in piedi, date le condizioni da campo profughi. Per come è conciato il mio intestino (alla fine, sembra siano i miomi ad aver finito di rovinarmelo e per questo andrebbero probabilmente tolti), più rischio anemia (ho il ciclo che non va via da più di un mese), impossibile reggere tutte quelle ore in una sala d'attesa, quantomeno non senza tornarmene con malattie aggiuntive. Ecco perchè l'ospedale privato. Per non parlare poi della mancanza di attrezzatura adeguata: per un solo ditino in cancrena da piede diabetico tagliano la gamba al paziente e non il solo dito perchè non hanno altra macchina se non quella per le amputazioni di grosso calibro. Immaginate quindi, vi prego. Mi scuso tanto per eventuali disagi causati.

Il prezzo che vedete è espresso in reais brasiliani, ma facendovi il conto che uno stipendio minimo è 1300 reais e considerato che con le nostre sole attività non ci ariviamo in due, potrete considerare che il mio power down è tutt'altro che un capriccio. Vi prego ora di non pensare affatto che sto qui a chiedere donazioni e ci mancherebbe. Niente affatto. I power down da questo e quel sito in cui lavoro saranno più che sufficienti

Dear friends, I find it fair to provide adequate explanations for my power down. You should know that it very far from being a whim, and by no means I intend to harm the community. Unfortunately, a rather serious illness that could involve surgery has forced me into it. Treatments here in Latin America where I live are expensive, there are no exemptions from payment except for insulin and hypotensive drugs (but what I have is neither diabetes nor hypertension: it is uterine myomas that are leading to devastating consequences) and a mercantilism of health involves prices that makes one very upset (just imagine that a box of antibiotics costs almost a tenth of a minimum salary, so think what a mess it would be if an entire single-income family were to fall ill and need antibiotic treatment). The illness that first of all made me rush to a private hospital (I wasn't even sure I would survive along the night because the pains were too strong, unbearable) cost me 775.07 reais just for a visit, blood sample and drip. Not to mention another 100 for prescribed drugs. Practically what I averagely earn in three months with my CNPJ (the local VAT number). I am a very small entrepreneur and therefore do not count on a salary from the safe roof of a traditional 9 to 5 job. In this geographic area, and due to my precarious health (even before last week's crisis, my leaky gut was always there to make havoc when it pleases without regard to anything or anyone), the best and quickest way to guarantee me a pension in my old age (if I get there) is a CNPJ (a VAT number). Unfortunately, I need to recoup this spent money, which with my only teaching job via my very small business (by the way, I also needed to suspend my teaching activity due to illness) is currently barely feasible. If you ask me why I didn't go to a public hospital (which I fear will be what I might get if my gynaecologist confirms the need for surgery), the reason is as follows: I live in a geographical area where a single public hospital serves an area the size of half of northern Italy. With the aggravating circumstance that every minute arrive there gunshot wounds cases because it is also the most dangerous area in the whole country, where drug trafficking and its guerrilla warfare is at an all-time high. You can therefore imagine the conditions in a such overcrowded hospital, where patients complain of a 13-hour waiting to be seen by a doctor. Spending the whole night without closing their eyes in the waiting room and maybe even standing, given such miserable conditions. The way my intestine is in a mess (in the end, it looks like it's the myomas that have finished ruining it so they should probably need to be removed), plus the risk of anaemia (I've had my period that hasn't gone away for over a month), impossible to cope with all those hours in a waiting room, at least not without coming back with additional illnesses. That's why the private hospital. Not to mention the lack of proper equipment: for one little toe of a gangrenous diabetic foot they cut off the patient's leg and not just the toe because they only have the machine for large calibre amputations. please, take in account such circumstances. I apologise so much for any inconvenience caused by my power down.

The price you see is expressed in Brazilian reais, but if you take into account that a minimum salary is 1300 reais, and considering that with our activities alone I and my husband don't make it, you can consider that my power down is very far from being a whim.
