Sappiamo tutti che ci sono delle polemiche sul consumo di energia per l'estrazione di Bitcoin, ogni paese dice la sua nonostante i dati del Bitcoin Mining Council confermino che di tutta l'energia totale del mondo, soltanto lo 0,142% di essa viene utilizzata per il mining di Bitcoin, oltre al fatto che 59% dei miner globali di BTC utilizza energia sostenibile. Ma ci sono poi realtà individuali in alcuni paesi che decidono di sfruttare il calore generato dall'estrazione di Bitcoin e utilizzarlo nelle coltivazioni per ridurre l'uso di gas naturale, come nei Paesi Bassi, oppure per essiccare i tronchi di una segheria locale, come accade in Finlandia. Rif.

Si tratta semplicemente di usare anzi non sprecare una risorsa di scarto e trarne vantaggio, accordi tra aziende locali che si avvantaggiano a vicenda.

L'agricoltore ottiene calore gratuito e non deve utilizzare i radiatori a gas naturale e visti oggi i prezzi del gas in Europa direi che fa davvero un grande affare, l'azienda di mining può accedere ad elettricità a buon mercato e usufruire dell'abbondanza di acqua per il raffreddamento dei dispositivi di mining.

Speriamo che questi esempi saranno seguiti presto da altre aziende del settore perché i vantaggi non sono soltanto quelli economici delle singole aziende, ma di tutta la comunità perché si rimette in circolo un'energia che altrimenti andrebbe sprecata e si riduce l'uso di gas inquinante.

Sarebbe bello che queste iniziative venissero prese direttamente dai governi dove c'è una massiccia presenza di aziende di mining, così si potrebbe rendere efficiente tutto il sistema energetico, gestendo meglio le risorse elettriche riducendo al minimo gli sprechi.

But then there are individual realities in some countries that decide to exploit the heat generated by Bitcoin mining and use it in crops to reduce the use of natural gas, as in the Netherlands, or to dry logs in a local sawmill, as is the case in Finland. Ref.

It's simply a matter of using or rather not wasting a discarded resource and taking advantage of it, agreements between local companies that benefit each other.

The farmer gets free heat and doesn't have to use natural gas heaters and given today's gas prices in Europe I'd say they get a really good deal, the mining company can access cheap electricity and take advantage of the abundance of water for refrigeration of mining equipment.

We hope that these examples will soon be followed by other companies in the sector because the benefits are not only economic for individual businesses, but for the whole community because energy that would otherwise be wasted is put back into circulation and the use of polluting gases is reduced.

It would be nice if these initiatives were taken directly by governments where there is a massive presence of mining companies, so they could make the whole energy system efficient, better managing electricity resources while minimizing waste.
