E se l'evoluzione dello smart working fosse nel Metaverso?

In questi ultimi 2 anni molte persone si sono dovute adattare a lavorare da casa, arrangiando un piccolo spazio di lavoro in un angolo dalla propria abitazione, rischiando ad ogni videochiamata di mostrare parte della propria vita privata.

Insomma non è stato facile e forse non lo è tutt'ora incastrare gli orari di tutti i membri della famiglia e svolgere i propri compiti quotidiani di lavoro dalla propria abitazione.

Allora forse questa idea di Bill Gates di svolgere le riunioni di lavoro nel Metaverso potrebbe essere una soluzione geniale e non una previsione strampalata e futuristica?

Con il nostro avatar potremmo essere presenti alle riunioni senza preoccuparci del nostro outfit nella vita reale tanto non se accorgerebbe nessuno, ma curando soltanto il look del nostro personaggio.

Quello che conta è interagire con il proprio gruppo di lavoro, che poi invece di essere noi in prima persona, siamo noi attraverso il nostro avatar, poco cambia.

E' un progetto a cui Gates crede molto, infatti ha appena lanciato MESH una piattaforma per svolgere riunioni virtuali in 3D con avatar personalizzati.Rif.

Detta così può sembrare un po' riduttivo, in realtà con questa piattaforma si possono ridurre le distanze geografiche e le persone possono sentirsi realmente più vicine.

Inoltre i futuri sviluppi del progetto metteranno a disposizione degli utenti una nuova tecnologia di acquisizione 3D chiamata Holoportation, per sostituire gli attuali avatar con immagini fotorealistiche di sé in alta qualità e in tempo reale.

Insomma dovremo abituarci prima o poi all'idea di vivere la nostra vita non più nel mondo reale a cui siamo abituati, ma in un mondo misto, in cui convivono diverse forme di interazione e così anche quella virtuale, che non sarà più soltanto associata all'universo dei game ma anche all'ambito del lavoro.

A me piace tanto l'evoluzione tecnologica soprattutto quando interviene per migliorare la nostra vita nel mondo lavorativo, ma allo stesso tempo mi spaventa perché potrebbe essere usata a vantaggio di pochi e di solito a rimetterci sono sempre i lavoratori.

Però so anche che il progresso non si può fermare e che quindi dovremo imparare a convivere con tutti questi cambiamenti ma rimanere sempre vigili e presenti a noi stessi, per non confondere mai le realtà in cui interagiamo e avere ben chiaro quale sia il mondo reale.

What if the evolution of remote working is in the Metaverse?

With our avatar we could be present at meetings without worrying about our outfit in real life so much so that no one would notice, but just taking care of the look of our character.

What matters is to interact with our workgroup, then instead of being us in the first person, we are us through our avatar, little change.

It's a project in which Gates believes a lot, in fact he has just launched MESH a platform to carry out virtual meetings in 3D with personalized avatars.Ref

This may seem a bit reductive, in fact with this platform you can reduce geographical distances and people can really feel closer.

What do you think about it?
I like technological evolution a lot, especially when it intervenes to improve our life in the working world, but at the same time it scares me because it could be used for the benefit of a few and usually it's always the workers who lose out.

But I also know that progress can't be stopped and therefore we will have to learn to live with all these changes but always remain vigilant and present to ourselves, in order to never confuse the realities in which we interact and be clear about what the real world is.
