Big Brown Spider - Photography

While passing a certain small road, I found an insect on a floor. Initially, I thought it was just a stick or charcoal but after looking too closely when I got there, I discovered it was a spider. A big one for that matter.

It was lying with its back and I wondered what might have gone wrong. Was it fighting and got defeated by another insect and got exhausted? Or is it tired of life?

I had to poke it small and watch happens next. It moved a little bit so I decided to turn it to lye with its back. Or was that defense mechanism 5hat it applied?
