STORY OF A RANDOM PORTUGUESE
I've already circled the ceiling
I've eaten a lot of curry
In Caracas, I made myself black
In Dakar, I made myself a fool
I was a bricklayer and an architect
I invented the alphabet
And exported it to Brazil.
In the twists and turns life gives
From clown to sacristan
I bought gold in Calcutta
Sold everything in Mormugão
And fixed the license
So Ali-Baba's daughter
Could get a driver's license.
I prescribed a lot of remedies
I was blind, deaf, and mute
I read a queen's fate
And got almost everything right
But I sneaked away, bit by bit
In a tin of sardines
Lined with velvet.
By balloon, I reached China
To Japan, I went by sleigh
I landed in Palestine
Riding a Pharaoh
I abused nicotine
I tried cocaine
And became addicted to sponge cake.
On the corners of Damascus
I sang tangos, fados, and viras
In Moscow, I opened a tavern
To make a few coins
I sold dry and wet goods
Because for the sake of my sins
I keep moving forward and don’t get stuck.
I was a Jew in the Jewish quarter
A mad slave and a swordsman
I celebrated the Eucharist
Passing through Bombay
I cured plague, leprosy, and indigestion
I spread the telephone
From Alaska to Beijing.
I made myself blonde, went dark
The king of rock among sultans
I chewed a lot of poison
I suffered winds and monsoons
And for Christ of Nazareth
I broke the Saracen
With the best of intentions.
I was very important
At a coffee table
I tore an elephant apart
In the swamps of Guinea
I was a soldier and a commander
I sailed in Campo Grande
And shipwrecked in Cais Sodré.

I am sharing photos of landscapes, moments and experiences. Nature and sea are the most visited themes in my photo collection, but any attention-grabbing aspect can be photographed. Hope you enjoy it...
