L'ultima tappa del mio tour spagnolo è stata Valencia!
Tra le 3 città che ho visitato, è stata quella che mi è piaciuta di meno, sarà perchè amo le cittadine piccole e a misura d'uomo, mentre Valencia è decisamente più grande e caotica!
Ma la cosa che mi è piaciuta moltissimo di Valencia, è stato il fatto di visitarla durante il periodo de "Las Fallas", ovvero una festa popolare che dura circa 20 giorni, in cui la città e il centro storico sono invase da strutture gigantesche, ognuna costruita dal proprio "rione" e da spettacoli pirotecnici e sfilate in abiti tradizionali.
E' stato un vero e proprio salto nella Spagna dell'epoca e delle festività di questo paese!
Di seguito alcune foto che ho scattato per la città durante questi giorni.
Immancabile è stata la visita alla città della Scienza, un insieme di strutture architettoniche dell'architetto Calatrava che per questioni di tempo non ho potuto visitare dall'interno ma solo passeggiare nel parco in cui esse sono situate.
E così si è concluso il mio viaggio in Spagna! Valencia come città non mi è piaciuta tantissimo, la l'atmosfera che ho respirato in quei giorni di festa è stata molto coinvolgente e davvero unica!!

The last stop of my Spanish tour was Valencia!
Among the 3 cities I visited, it was the one I liked the least, maybe because I love small and human-sized towns, while Valencia is definitely bigger and more chaotic!
But what I really liked about Valencia was the fact that I visited it during the period of 'Las Fallas', a popular festival that lasts about 20 days, in which the city and the old town are invaded by giant structures, each built by its own 'district' and fireworks shows and parades in traditional dress.
It was a real jump into the Spain of the time and the festivities of this country!
Below are some photos I took around the city during these days.
Not to be missed was a visit to the City of Science, a set of architectural structures designed by the architect Calatrava, which for reasons of time I could not visit from the inside but only walk in the park where they are located.
And so my trip to Spain ended! I didn't like Valencia as a city very much, but the atmosphere I breathed in those days of celebration was very involving and really unique!!!

Non male… anch’io spesso sento dire che a Valencia si preferiscono altre città… comunque la struttura di Calatrava sembra molto bella. interessanti anche quelle imponenti illuminazioni notturne attorno agli edifici.

Bellissime queste fotografie, io a Valencia ci sono passato di sfuggita, e me ne pento. Molto belle quelle illuminazioni, ne ho viste di simili a Matera, le chiamano cattedrali di luce.
