The Best Photo Italy: Veduta di Castellabate - View of Castellabate [ITA-ENG]

Oggi voglio partecipare (anche se fuori concorso) ad uno dei nostri contest più apprezzati: The Best Photo of the Week, che potete trovare sul blog di @italygame.

Se ancora non lo conoscete, andate a darci un'occhiata...soprattutto se siete appassionati di fotografia, sono sicuro che vi piacerà.

Quelle che vedete qui sono due foto che ho scattato durante il viaggio di ritorno dalle mie vacanze estive di quest'anno.

Ritraggono il panorama di Santa Maria di Castellabate, uno dei borghi più caratteristici e conosciuti del Cilento.

Il Comune di Castellabate è diventato molto noto soprattutto grazie al film "benvenuti al Sud" interpretato da Claudio Bisio e Alessandro Siani.

Qui infatti sono state girate tutte le scene ambientate nel paesino del Sud in cui Bisio viene trasferito. Se non avete ancora visto il film, ve lo consiglio perché è molto divertente e carino.

Celebre anche la frase “Qui non si muore”, pronunciata da Gioacchino Murat, cognato di Napoleone, nel 1811.

La citazione è immortalata in una targa in marmo collocata in una delle stradine del borgo antico, targa diventata uno dei simboli della cittadina e fermata obbligatoria per una foto ricordo.

Sono davvero orgoglioso di poter parlare di piccole perle come questa, orgoglio italiano, ma soprattutto (diciamolo per una volta) campano.

Hello everyone!

Today I want to participate (even if out of competition) in one of our most popular contests: The Best Photo of the Week, that you can find on the @italygame blog page.

What you see here are two photos I took during the return trip from my summer vacation this year.

They portray the panorama of Santa Maria di Castellabate, one of the most characteristic and well-known villages of the Cilento.

The Municipality of Castellabate has become well known above all thanks to the film "Welcome to the South" starring Claudio Bisio and Alessandro Siani.

Here, in fact, all the scenes set in the southern village where Bisio is transferred were shot. If you haven't seen the movie yet, I recommend it because it's very funny and lovable.

Also famous is the phrase “Here you don't die”, pronounced by Gioacchino Murat, Napoleon's brother-in-law, in 1811.

The quote is immortalized on a marble plaque placed in one of the streets of the ancient village, a plaque that has become one of the symbols of the town and an obligatory stop for a souvenir photo.

I am really proud to be able to talk about small pearls like this, Italian pride, but above all (let's say it for once) from Campania.
