Ciao a tutti!

Qui ad Acciaroli, il paese in cui trascorro le mie vacanze, ogni anno la seconda domenica di agosto, si celebra la Festa della Madonna Protettrice dei pescatori.

Il rituale prevede che, dopo aver svolto la funzione religiosa nella chiesa sul porto, gli abitanti del posto trasportino la statua della Madonna su un peschereccio seguito da tutti gli altri.

Si fa un giro in mare percorrendo una parte della costa e alla fine si lascia in acqua una corona di fiori in segno di ringraziamento e di protezione.

Poi la statua viene portata in processione lungo le stradine del paese e quando ritorna sul lungomare, si svolge un bellissimo spettacolo pirotecnico.

Questa esecuzione di fuochi d’artificio è per noi un appuntamento fisso, in quanto è sempre particolarmente entusiasmante.

Intorno alle 21,30 tutte le persone si riversano sul lungomare per assistere a questo spettacolo.

Io quest’anno sono rimasto a casa con uno dei miei bimbi, visto che non aveva ancora finito di cenare, mentre l’altra metà della famiglia e gli altri nostri amici sono andati a vedere i fuochi d’artificio da vicino.

In ogni caso, neanche noi ce li siamo persi, perché dal balcone di casa nostra so vedevano bene.

Come vedete, la particolarità è che, oltre che da terra, i fuochi vengono sparati anche dal mare.

L’esibizione è durata circa 15 minuti, è stato anche quest’anno un bellissimo spettacolo e, pur avendolo visto da casa per la prima volta, ci siamo comunque entusiasmati tantissimo.

Hello everyone!

Here in Acciaroli, the town where I spend my holidays, every year on the second Sunday of August, the Feast of the Madonna Protectress of fishermen is celebrated.

The ritual requires that, after having officiated the religious function in the church on the port, the locals carry the statue of the Madonna on a fishing boat followed by all the others.

They take a ride in the sea along a part of the coast and at the end they leave a wreath of flowers in the water as a sign of thanks and protection.

Then the statue is carried in procession along the narrow streets of the town and when it returns to the seafront, a beautiful fireworks show takes place.

This execution of fireworks is a fixed appointment for us, as it is always particularly exciting.

Around 9.30 pm all the people flock to the promenade to watch this show.

This year I stayed at home with one of my children, since he had not finished dinner yet, while the other half of the family and our other friends went to see the fireworks up close.

In any case, we didn't miss them either, because from the balcony of our house, we could see them clearly.

As you can see, the peculiarity is that, as well as from the ground, the fires also come from the sea.

The performance lasted about 15 minutes, it was also a great show this year and, despite having seen it from home for the first time, we were still very enthusiastic.
