Flower and Pink - A PhotoChain Challenge Promotional Post
The PhotoChain Challenge hosted by @davidesimoncini is on its 64th Week already. Have you heard of this Contest?
This post aims to promote the Contest which is a very challenging and creative one. As the Contest name implies it involves a Blockchain-like activity where participants enter a photo which shows two required objects, or keywords, nominated by two winners of the previous week. After entering the photo, the participant has to choose an object found in the photo as his or her personal keyword. If the entry wins, then that personal keyword becomes one of the two objects for the next Round. Since there are two winners every week, there will be two new keywords or objects for the next Round. So as you can see, each week that this contest ran two objects were always used which were chosen by the previous week's winners. More like a Blockchain activity where each object used can be traced back to the beginning of the contest!
Confusing? Not really. Let's take this week's Round. The required objects or keywords as chosen by the two winners last week were FLOWER by @olivia08 and PINK by @xiao-anne. These 2 objects were found in their entries last week which featured the two keywords Treasure Chest by @solperez and Banana by @wakeupkitty.pal. We can go back further to find out the history of how we arrived at FLOWER and PINK but that would take a loooong time. So I suggest we move forward, instead of backwards.
I am a regular participant to this PhotoChain and I find this Challenge extremely stimulating to my creativeness (whatever amount there is lol). So for this week, FLOWER and PINK are two objects that are very easy to show in one photo. Unlike last week which was Treasure Chest and Banana. Nevertheless, despite this, the challenge is to show a photo that readers will appreciate and like. Any pink flower will do but if I can show something that is unique and rare, the better. Right?
So, I went over my photo archives and found two interesting flowers that are pink or have shades of pink. Here's the first, an orchid.
This was on display in one of the malls here in our city to commemorate the city's foundation day.
Beautiful? I had a good mind of entering the first photo until I remembered we have a plant in our garden which have gorgeous shades of pink. Here it is.
This is called the Garlic Vine. And yes, as the name suggests, the flowers and leaves of this plant smell of garlic and can actually be used for cooking and flavoring food. They are also used to adorn altars and flower vases.
So having all these photos the next step is to determine which to enter in the contest. And I have decided that the photo below will be my entry.
Do you agree with my choice?
Well anyway, with that decided, the last thing that needs to be done is to choose my personal keyword or object which, if I win, will be one of the objects or keywords required in the next Round. I can choose another color like green or purple but the choice should be obvious. And this is LEAVES.
FLOWER / PINK / LEAVES
And that about wraps up this promotional post. I hope you find this interesting enough to stimulate your curiosity and find up more about it. Click on this Link and know more about this innovative Challenge.
